Beliefs of Faith Community Church of El Dorado, Arkansas
Statement of Covenant and Purpose
Essentials of our Faith
We believe in salvation
by grace made available by the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
We accept the Bible as the inspired word of God.
We
believe in God as revealed in the Scriptures and in the person and work of the Lord, Jesus Christ as affirmed in the Nicean and Apostles
creeds of the early church. (see attachment)
We believe in one baptism upon turning from sin and for initiation into the church of
Christ. We validate several forms of baptism.
We believe in open communion for all Christians.
We believe that marriage is a sacred
covenant between a man and a woman and God.
We believe in the transforming power of the Holy Spirit who empowers the believer with
spiritual gifts.
We believe we are called to serve, caring for each other and for all in any need in which we can help, individually
or together, as we seek to live with justice and fairness for all people.
We believe in the freedom of personal conviction in matters
outside of these essentials of faith. We also believe in respecting each other in our personal convictions.
